Dear Hiring Team,

I bring over 20 years of experience leading multi-format production across audio, podcasts, live performance, film, television, and streaming, with audio-first storytelling as a consistent throughline. I’ve led complex projects from development through delivery, balancing creative ambition with disciplined execution while guiding producers, directors, editors, and sound designers through editorial and post-production.

My audio background includes producing performance-driven storytelling with NPR’s Snap Judgment, as well as creating and publishing my own podcast in 2012, when podcasting was still an emerging form of storytelling. I also spent two years at Detour, the immersive audio company that helped give rise to what later became Descript. At the time, Descript functioned as a pioneering podcast-focused creation and editing tool, while Detour served as the platform for publishing and sharing those audio experiences—work that included branded audio storytelling created in partnership with organizations such as Nike and Airbnb.

At KQED, I oversaw production operations for the Science & Environment division across television broadcast, radio, podcasts, digital and web content, and newsroom-driven reporting. Across public media, studio, and streaming environments, I’ve consistently partnered with creative leadership and, when needed, stepped into director-adjacent roles during editorial to guide narrative, pacing, and tonal decisions through final delivery. Audible’s focus on ambitious, performance-driven, multi-format audio storytelling strongly aligns with how I work, and I would welcome the opportunity to contribute in a leadership capacity.

Sincerely,
Jeanette Marie Aguilar
