Dear Hiring Team,

Before diving in, a quick note: please ignore my LinkedIn profile. I keep it tailored to Brand, Marketing, and Film/TV production work, so it doesn’t give a fair or clear picture of my podcast experience. This resume is the best reflection of that side of my career.

Seeing this Podcast Producer role tagged for Pasadena immediately caught my attention. I live here, and the chance to work locally in a role that’s so closely aligned with what I’ve been doing for years is a great fit. I did notice the mention of New Jersey in the description, and just to be clear — I’m fully comfortable traveling there as needed or supporting a team member on the ground. Travel has always been part of my work, and I adapt easily to where projects take me.

My podcast production background spans more than a decade across branded, independent, and journalism-driven work. At FILM45, I supported The Colts Show and a two-year podcast series with Jim Irsay alongside a companion documentary, booking interviews, coordinating studio sessions, sourcing gear, and managing post-production with freelance editors. At Detour.com, I produced branded audio tours for Nike and Airbnb, managing a global network of producers to create location-specific content. Earlier, I contributed to NPR’s Snap Judgment and to KQED/PBS, producing podcasts and digital content for journalism and science programming.

On the independent side, I co-created Two V’s in a Pod and Grown Ass Kids, where I learned podcasting from the ground up. I researched and booked all guests, experimented with Tascam recorders, Shure mics, and mixer interfaces for both in-field and studio setups, and used early tools like Skype Call Recorder to figure out how best to capture remote interviews. Over the years, I’ve carried that hands-on approach into every project — balancing creative storytelling with the technical and operational know-how that keeps production running smoothly.

Podcasting has been the through-line in my career, and I’ve built out every part of the process: content development, interview booking, gear sourcing, editing, and distribution across Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. I’ve also worked in brand environments with partners like Smirnoff/VH1, Prime Video/Thursday Night Football, Chevron, Adidas, and Union Bank/PBS — so I understand how to align podcast storytelling with broader marketing and campaign goals.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I’d welcome the chance to bring my podcast production skills to Apex and help deliver high-quality shows that fit both creative and strategic goals.

Sincerely,
Jeanette Marie Aguilar
